Woo, sprites. Love the progress you've been making.

Anyway, I did a little simple research on those three you just posted. Here's what turned up:

クラムボン
"Clammbon" is a band in Japan. On Google Image Search, クラムボン gave me pictures of clams and crabs too...though very very intermittent. 3/4 of the time, it was the band. Joke reference?

メルドウォーム
Yeah, this one's weird. Didn't get that far, but I found http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Meloidogyne .
"Meloido" sounds close to "メルド", too bad Meloidogyne is a whole genus by itself.

I also found this: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Marid
- A Marid in common mythology is a djinn related to the element of water. Marids are mentioned in the Qur'an in Sura As-Saaffat:7 (37:7): And to guard against every rebellious (Marid) devil.

Romanization of "merudo" sounds a little bit like marid, except the i-u part is a little iffy.

Combine the two and you get "maridworm". If that enemy appears in a watery environment, it might work? (And I'm aware that Wikipedia isn't a reliable source, but at least it knows how to spell. Hopefully.)

フラッガー
http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/flogger
A flogger is someone who tortures with a whip or a rod. The sprite you gave seems to have the dude holding a spear, though a rod could be a little understandable stretch.

Sorry for not posting earlier~
Anyway, Clamp-on is doable for now. The Clam Bon thing means clam bomb which means clam bubbles in less-awkward English. Crabs and clams blow bubbles... little air bubble bombs. The monster does blow bubbles but you're gonna have to change the name to make it work, which means staying with Clamp-on is better.

Meldworm is fine with me now that I know what the sprite is. Off the top of my head the CH version means the same thing (not that it's always trustworthy).

Flagger sounds most likely to me. Afaik, they don't use frag or flog all that much. As for the meaning, it gets engrishy. I believe the CH for that sprite has something like vanguard soldier. Flagger could just be engrish for the guy carrying the army's emblem/flag at the front, or some flag officer. I see it as along the lines of mixing forefront, avant-garde, flag bearer, flagship. Etcetc.

I should mention ケンタウロス Centaurus -> Centaur. The kana is based off original Greek like most other Greek borrowed crap (Keroberos-Cerberus, Minotauros-Minotaur). Also, Rock to Roc, Diablos to Diablo (ディアボロス Diabolos->Diablo/Devil). I only took a quick glance so there might be more.

I was looking up something in the old ToD2 item/etc dump list and I must've missed the Misericorde entry. Dunno if it's changed now, but I would suggest Misericord or Mercygiver (well actually, I think it's best to use Misericord in the name and say something in the description about giving/delivering a mercy death? Just don't be too similar with the Coup de grace description or something)

Time for some thread necromancy!

マリガン
Mulligan

An archer chick. You'd think they'd give her a generic enemy name like "Archer" like all the other generic human encounters in Tales games, and all the other generic humans in this game as well.

I must have been looking at the wrong image file way back when, but...

Unmistakably a dig at Morrigan! So... Marrigan? Tongue

I say Marrigan.  There's no need to be ambiguous about it. >>;

Heh.  Yeah, go with Marrigan.  It's not like you're able to hide the reference, especially when it comes to accuracy.

I also saw in the progress thread that Lilith's daughter has the placeholder of Rimuru.  I take it you're still deciding on a final name for most of the enemies.

(Must not get my hopes up that it's that name just for the sake of making more comments on names sounding close to fighting game characters)

I noted in the spoiler text that I hadn't inserted the results in this thread yet (still haven't actually). Though I actually like Rimuru as a name more than I normally would for such things, I can't shake that the Ri in her name is in some way connected to the Li in Lilith's name. Limuru doesn't quite feel right, and I don't like any other literal interpretations you can get out of Rimuru.

The most connected "translation" of rimuru name is "limle" to "lilith" though I think Limle sounds nice, Rimuru is WAY more known fanbase.
Also isnt it officially romanized as "rimuru"? I thought it was in the sound test or something...... (you know there it is in english, so it is the "official" romanization)

I don't know why, but I keep getting this feeling that Rimuru's name, in whatever the correct form is, is a reference or a pun or something.  Considering that it tends to happen with arena enemies...

oh well.

As for the name choice, Rimuru is fine.
