Seems we're having trouble attracting new translators to this. The project, of course, is in no way canned (I really hate having to reaffirm this after periods of inactivity). We're just stalled, as is the usual course.
Little has happened following the 4/28 textfile update, aside from the brief discussion here. Nothing notable has happened at all "behind the scenes."
I dunno if the text file mountain is scaring people away, so this topic will be dedicated to little translation "spots" that get straight to the point... stuff that definitely needs working on, without wading through all the files to find things. Also, to help keep people from feeling overwhelmed, each spot will only have several items max to work on.
I'll still be updating the text files in the sticky accordingly, as time goes on.
So, to begin, let's get started on Leroy's leftovers: equipment descriptions. He had almost completed the entire thing, but there are about 25 Polearm descriptions not yet finished.

Pretty much. People should be worried if we haven't updated in over a year or something and have seemingly disappeared from the face of the planet. There are plenty of big games from the SNES era that are
still
awaiting completion. Many of those projects are dormant and on pages that haven't been updated since the 90s or early century...

Don't worry about joke weapons not fitting into the item class name. At least not if you can't explain how a harisen counts as a sword. :p As for double edge, if it's all the same, I think it's better to keep the Japanese name since it makes it easier to use FAQs based on the Japanese version and stuff like that. *shrug*

i think it's saying something along the lines of, "people already have to deal with so much weight...", the implication being that the extra pressure that the E.P. puts on is enough to overwhelm them, or something. i'm not sure what they mean by weight, exactly... the weight of their armor? gravity in general? loni trying to piledrive them?
what we have down already seems fine, though... dunno if we can really word the idea humorously. unless someone wants to give it a shot

So is this thread going to be ongoing with Cless tossing up the bits that need to be translated and people just jumping on them as they come? That certainly seems like it could be a more effective means to keep things moving, though a bigger pain in the ass for Cless. I'm still willing to help, I'm just shorter on time these days so I haven't put in any real time digging through the text files.

That's the idea with this thread. Just spend 20 minutes or less on what's requested to be worked on at the moment and be done with it. No worrying about the whole big list.
I don't mean to discourage the original way we were doing this at all. In fact, I still very much encourage it. This thread was just another idea to get things moving, since updating the scripts with direction, and updating the website and adding more plugs didn't seem to help much as I anticipated.
I would really like to release the first menu beta soon.

Well, as long as we do it the way Leroy has (which Cyllya has been doing thus far), with *all* the data from the original file, it's no big deal. Leroy's style has been the easiest to deal with because it's very easy to just copy and paste the chunks back into the script file.

I did quite a bit of work on the titles last night. They really didn't seem THAT spoilerific to me, aside from the one that reveals Judas' obvious true identity... not entirely sure I want to put them in this topic though.
That said, the item descriptions are practically finished! All that's left are a few that may need revisions. But I'm going to focus on translations in this thread, and maybe start a similar one that's more about editing some rough translations and such.
Moving along, there are a still a couple of strategy menu items which are not translated.

I'm not so sure of the accuracy of the second line.
The message appears when the cursor as the top of the screen. Screenshot of the strategy menu:
It seems that the "Let's go!", "Charge!" and all that are just labels, and that you need to customize the strategy yourself, I guess to match up with the label's wording (there's nothing preset)
There doesn't seem to be anything about a renaming option? I recall Symphonia actually have such a function, but I can't do anything like that here... I can only swap labels.
EDIT: Perhaps this might work...?

Yeah, Team Destiny isn't too hot on letting you rename or name set strategies. You can't do that with Rebirth (labels), you can't do it in Destiny-R (no extra slots) and yeah, can't do that here. Sure is annoying.
Oddly enough they removed it in US Abyss, wierdo Hometek =P

Cless, what you put there is actually a lot closer to what it actually says now that I have the context. I wasn't sure how the system worked, so that's why mine was vague and off-target. So yeah, just translate that second line like you did.
