any chance they were going for "Reflects", or something silly like that? i seem to recall "Reflect" being the official name in one or more games, and the description mentions reflecting, even though Reflex is the most logical choice.

Circa 2005~

(ToD-Reflex/ToDII-Reflect/ToS-Reflect. And not that ToD and ToDII should give much confidence with their share of errors between the two of em, but then the latter does use Bardis, Shamsel, and continues to beat the dead "Bellebane" *cringe* horse that even ToS decided to ride it out. ToL uses Reflex and Verbena [Vervain] after that debate.)

That reminds me, "Cross Helm". The item's existed since ToP and all the Tales games are STILL translating it that (including the new ones: ToL/ToA/ToPGBA). I'm pretty sure it's Close Helm, or Closed Helm. This is the only kind of cross helm I know (so named for the cross symbol). If you've played any Tales you might know the item resembles a close helm rather than a Crusades helmet. And if it was a cross helm, the description probably would've said something obvious about the cross.

In this case, the description about protecting the whole head lends itself to Close Helm. And iirc, some descriptions say it's a type of armet, which it is. (I made the edit already in my old July edits, but I've still got the new block1 left to re-check so I still haven't submitted.)

Edit: seems like FFT and FF9 translated it as cross helm too, heh.

Sorry everyone, I haven't forgotten about this or abandoned it.. but as I've had a bit of "off again, on again" thing over the last month at work it's been hard for me to partition the time to finish this off (yes, call me selfish for not wanting to spend my time at home on this, haha).
