Size isn't everything. If it matches and still fails, it means the input image is corrupted somehow.

Run a CRC/MD5 check on the file and see that data mismatches (despite having the same size)

Use something like QuickSFV to generate an SFV (w/CRC or MD5) and then open the .sfv in notepad and see the numbers mismatch~

I have no idea what that error means. Try using xdelta UI http://romhacking.net/utils/598/ to patch the game. You'll probably have to rename the patch file to whatever.xdelta to use it, though.

Hey everyone  Grin
First of all thanks for the patch and for all the effort you have put in the project  Wink
But anyway, i'm having some trouble.
I patched the game and everything seemed to go ok. Then I burnt it into a DVD with ImgBurn and again, everything seemed to go fine. But then when i tried to run it on my PS2 it couldn't read it  Sad
I haven't mistaken the patch, as I tried the game on the PS2 Emulator and could see things translated. I also checked the MD5 and it matches with the original version, so I can't figure out what have I done wrong  Huh

One last thing, wasn't the mega hits version suposed to have the Preview option in the main menu and not the original one? Because mine has the Preview option but it can't be the mega hits version as it doesn't match it's size and MD5.

Well anyway, thanks and hope you can help me out  Grin

Media/burn quality/PS2 laser issue.

You have it the other way around. The original has Preview. Mega Hits/Best do not. The Mega Hits/Best patch is designed to convert them back into the original release, but without the actual files to the Preview. The option still shows up, but it won't work right. In later releases, I'm going to look into getting it removed.

It isn't a problem in the PS2 laser as other games work perfectly  Undecided
It can read japanese games as it can read ToD remake so it isn't the PS2...
So, some questions:
Which burning software should I use?
And what would happen if i pressed preview after patching the game? I can't recall if I did...could that have caused the problem?

Anyway, if i can't make it work i''ll go and buy some new DVDs as i think the ones i have are not working fine xD

Thanks for answering so fast and thanks for the help Wink

Due to the way the patching works, I'm pretty sure what you were trying out is 100% identical to what I tested working before releasing the patches...unless there were write errors in the burn process, which are generally unlikely (but DO happen) and any decent burning program (like ImgBurn) will allow you to verify.

You said it could read "Japanese games" but didn't indicate whether those were burns or originals. If they are originals, well...the PS2 is going to have an easier time reading just about any original pressed disc in decent condition than any burn, regardless of region.

There are too many variables to pinpoint the source of a burned disc that's either not working or performing poorly.

Unless you have a slim PS2...if all else fails...HDLoader is your friend. ToD2 has no known issues with it.

I'm pretty sure the patch won't work with the PSP version.

Also, when you say your PS2 can play Japanese games ... How? Do you use some type of modding technique like Swap Magic, or do you use a Japanese PS2? Because if the latter, you won't be able to play patched games.
