I have updated the menu text file archive in the OP, as well as the status table.

And just a word of reminder: Don't assume that even if there's no activity on these forums, that these files are out of date. This is still a community-fueled project, so stuff that doesn't happen on here isn't magically happening elsewhere.

As stated in today's site update, Tammaiya is working through the menu files. She's currently away and has not posted here, and not sure if she intends to. It's looking like the community effort might finally be coming to a close, and this game's menu patch might not be that far off.

I might still post things for editing here, though. We'll see what happens.

Hello!

I was wondering if you were still looking for editors?  While I don't know any written Japanese, I'm very good with the English language, especially when it comes to grammar, and I have a knack for picking out the intention behind translations of phrases from Japanese.  I've done some work previously with the Buusagi Scantilation group on LiveJournal as well.

Might be a bit early to make any solid decisions on who and what for editing, but I guess no decisions have been made yet there. (Ultimately, Cless'll have to make the decisions on this anyway. He's the Project Manager/Coordinator/Lead Hacker/Human Relations/Everything person... man... thing!)

In fear of sounding like I've got this on my clipboard or something;

Ideally, ToD2 and ToDrDC should use the same general editors, proofreader(s) and contextual proofreaders/editors (fancy way of saying testers). General testing could of course be done by individuals who're only involved in one project each, but I really think it'd be best if as much of the people involved as possible could get down and dirty with both projects. The projects currently have different translators, but there'll be some shared stuff between the two (think Cless has been experimenting with some minor restructuring of the text DB and stuff --following the recent growth in interest for a more retail industry standard approach to text DB presentation-- to better handle the synchronization between the projects, amongst other things). I'm basically the self-proclaimed asshole that'll take responsibility for all the consistency issues between the two projects. If something happens post-release, or someone else spots something way after I should've already done so, I'll be whipping myself to blood, crying myself to sleep, and all that haha

I don't think Project Destiny (can we call it that?) will go through as much of an everlasting editing process as Phantasia currently has. Mainly because of the increase in audio assets (putting further limitations on how far we can go with the text) and 'cause Destiny's source content (mixed with everyone's experience) makes things likely to be much smoother than Phantasia's ever been. However, it'll still be requiring lots of labor and love! (No slacking!) The big (new) challenge would be to ensure that both games feel the same, says the same, and that the text is totally comprehensible (beyond just having English words appearing in random order on the screen) - this while also ensuring that when you play them, they'll feel like both the works of Absolute Zero and Phantasia Productions... at the same time! (With a dose of any contributors who aren't directly operating under either of the aforementioned group names.)

Anyway, for the sake of formalities and stuff, mind linking to some of your previous work?

Hi,

I was wondering if you still need help editing the script for Tales of Destiny 2. If you do I'd like to help out and proofread/edit some of the project. Let me know how I can get involved.

Well, I'm recurring to this forum because I have english skills, but my Japanese ability is near zero.

I checked if there was some english patch for Tales of Destiny 2 and the trail had led me here.

Well, I know that you have a life and all, but I heard that the translation would be more than just menu translation. I wanna know how is the status of translation, or if this translation is going on... Is it abandoned, something like that? I really dunno.

But I would REALLY like an english version of Tales of Destiny 2, so I've come to check this place.

Note: I'm also Brazilian.

Like the board index says, the project is currently on hiatus.
