I can field some of these

the main story of the game is translated???

not yet.  The menu isn't even 100% done.

check the game's box.

If it's just a burned ISO from a torrent, see whether or not the "Preview" option is there.  If it is, it's Mega Hits.

Got the ISO file patched and I am playing it right now on PCSX2. First, let me say that the patch is awesome, even it's only the menus.
I got the game today and have been fiddling around with the emulator to try and get it to work the best I can. I had been testing the original Japanese ISO (in the end I ripped the game using IMGburn because I could not get the actual DVD to work with the emu) before patching it. Once I patched it even seeing the menus translated gave me hope that one day the entire game will be translated.

Playing it on the emu isn't so bad, the cut-scenes are a little slow. The first once sent shivers down my spine. Huge fan of ToD (favorite game of all time) and that cut-scene brought back a lot of memories, even if it was only running at 15-20 fps and the sound was choppy.

I'll probably get a slim PS2 for Christmas and mod it because while the game runs decently at about 30-40 FPS most of the time, I realized I much rather just play it on a real PS2.

Right now I'll just use the crappy "translation" guide on GameFAQs to try and help me through the game. My biggest fear was actually the menus and skills being undecipherable. I can always use a guide for dialogue.

Sorry for the wall of text but I just wanted to express my gratitude and excitement for such a momentous project. Keep up the awesome work Cless! I hope that maybe you'll surprise us with something by Christmas, but I'm willing to wait for something as awesome as this.

Oh, and I'm an English Major/Writing Minor so if you need any help in editing the English/Grammar when everything is said and done I'm your man. Don't know how many people you already have on board for this, or if you need it in the first place but I'm just throwing it out there.

*EDIT*
I've managed to get my FPS above 50. Still nothing special.

I might suggest looking up on methods like SwapMagic or Independence Exploit + HDLoader than buying a PSTwo.

Isn't SwapMagic used in conjunction with a PS2? And I don't know what the other method is.

I do know that slim PS2s are only about $100 now. Which isn't so bad.

Doesn't the FAQ explicitly says that links to downloads won't be provided? Just buy the freaking game.

In case you missed my previous post about that, I have reproduced it below:

Download the Best version from here. Then use the reprint patch.

I have updated the menu text file archive in the OP, as well as the status table.

And just a word of reminder: Don't assume that even if there's no activity on these forums, that these files are out of date. This is still a community-fueled project, so stuff that doesn't happen on here isn't magically happening elsewhere.

As stated in today's site update, Tammaiya is working through the menu files. She's currently away and has not posted here, and not sure if she intends to. It's looking like the community effort might finally be coming to a close, and this game's menu patch might not be that far off.

I might still post things for editing here, though. We'll see what happens.
